Photos from the 1950s

Taken in the 60's but you'd still recognise the counter today

We keep finding some great photographs of the shop from the 1950′s and 1960′s. If you recognise anyone in the photographs we’d love to here from you – let us know at photos@originalmaidsofhonour.co.uk

The original staff in the 1800s

Alfred Newens and his family and staff posed in front of the Kew shop. Mrs Newens stands to the left of Alfred. On his right is his son Frank, who distinguished himself as a photographer and his daughter Kathleen who with John, (holding the pony) continued in business all her life.
